- - - - - - - - - - The Gethsemane Hour PART TWO - The Gethsemane Hours These prayers are best recited before Our Lord exposed in the Monstrance or before Our Lord’s presence in the Tabernacle. You could also go to www.savior.org and do these prayers before the live video feed on your computer screen of Our Lord exposed in the Monstrance. Or, you could pray them in front of a Crucifix. If you can not achieve any of the above, it is still far greater to do them anywhere, than not to do them at all. The Hours begin at 11:00pm sharp every Thursday night (it's a good practice to be punctual with Our Lord), and continue until 3:00am Friday morning. The schedule of prayers follows: a. All 20 Mysteries of the
Rosary (In Nigeria that includes the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a hymn in her honor and Prayers b. The Chaplet of the Precious Blood c. The Litany of the Precious Blood d. The Consecration Prayer to the Precious Blood e. The Consolation Prayers f. The Adoration Prayers g. The Anguished Appeals h. The Mystical Prayers i. Benediction or The Votive Mass of the Precious Blood (wherever a priest is available) Nine items; a powerful novena for the redemption of humanity. With these Hours Our Lord promises that "those who faithfully observe these Hours will have nothing to fear from the anti-christ." After conferring with Barnabas in Nigeria, I was told the minimum Our Lord will accept, as a starting point, is as follows: PART TWO (REDUCED) - The Minimum Gethsemane Hours Our Lord said a minimum of one hour between the hours of Midnight and 3:00am on Friday morning, is acceptable. Do as many of the listed prayers as possible without rushing. It is a good idea to rotate them so that each week you will do a different section until you have prayed them all. If you can only make one hour, Our Lord requests it to be on Friday, not Thursday. “My children, I welcome all of you into this Holy Adoration. Ask My loving children to wake up from their coldness and turn away from their unfaithfulness. The hour is at hand, the enemy is fast approaching. Wake up! Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. My children, come follow me and enter Gethsemane for prayer that you will not give up during the hour of trials. My children, learn to make your Gethsemane Hour well. Observe it with your heart. Be brave to overcome your enemy. Teach them to the whole world and let them learn all the prayers I taught you. My children, I gave you this Gethsemane Hour. It is for you and for all men. Learn today that this hour is blessed. Anyone who devotedly makes this Gethsemane Hour faithfully will never fall during his own hour of dryness and trials. He will be filled with power always and be courageous in these ungodly and wicked days…The midnight of Thursday which gave birth to Friday was the day and hour of Gethsemane prayer. During this hour and on that day the greatest enemy of the Cross and his agents held their meeting against you and all the faithful ones. My children, watch with Me always that you will have your soul at peace. I am with you and all men who practice this Gethsemane Hour always. I beg you son, never give up. I bless you all.”(20 July 1998) The Gethsemane Hour is every Thursday night at 11:00pm to Friday morning at 3:00am. The prayers Our Lord requested are: 1. The Rosary (All four mysteries; Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious, if possible) 2. Chaplet of the Precious Blood 3. Litany of the Precious Blood 4. Consecration to the Precious Blood 5. Consolation and Adoration Prayers 6. The Mystical Prayers 7. Mass of the Precious Blood and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, where possible. Our Lord has requested all children to come to Gethsemane with Him. A practical suggestion for the Gethsemane Hour: Take a nap if possible. Fr. Evaristus Eshiowu shared this secret to his success in making the Gethsemane Hour a part of his very hectic schedule. He eats dinner then goes to bed at 6:30pm on Thursday afternoon. He sets his alarm for 10:30pm and gets up and walks to the Chapel where he does the Gethsemane Hour at Nne Enymaka Shrine (Our Lady Help of Christians). After the Gethsemane Hour ends at 3:00am, he goes home and goes straight to bed. He rises at 7:00am. In this way he is unaffected by the long prayer in the middle of the night. |
